Amsterdam, The Netherlands

After arriving via an overnight bus from Paris, the driver dropped us off at a train station on the edge of the city. A group of us, all young kids, were left with no choice at 6:30 in the morning but to either wait an hour for a train or combine our efforts for a cab into the city. As soon as we rode in past Amsterdam Centraal and I saw how the architecture looked and the city felt, I instantly knew I was in a different world. The city is very consistent, but in this case it didn't feel like a bad thing. To me it was like the West Village meets Venice in a sense. The vibes were amazing. Out of everywhere I went in Europe, Amsterdam felt the most different and unique out of any place. I even got to go back there a second time less than a month later, so I really got to know it well.
